Pardon my dust.
I think this has more potential value than any of the other places where I share my work
I have been running this blog for a year and a half. Initially, it started as a way for me to de-prioritize Patreon. Closed private platforms have limitations that I find frustrating, and hosting with Ghost removes that from the picture entirely. With Ghost, I pay an annual hosting fee rather than a percentage of my profits. Essentially, I am not charged more as I find success. My frustration with Patreon stemmed from the fact that when I started, the creator cut was 95%. Since then, it has shifted to less than 88%. Every time I log in, I get a full screen pop up telling me that I should agree to their new terms and give up my founder status. Doing this would end my 95% split. In return, they offer me more features. Some of them would be useful, but most just feel unnecessary. With Ghost, if I want a new feature, I have the ability to build it myself.
Since starting this endeavor, I have made very few changes to the site itself. I felt it was time to dust off parts of the site and its design, and the same goes for the pricing structure. Let’s cover what I have done so far.
Paid Membership Tiers.
- Removed the 90$ Sponsor Tier
- Lowered the monthly and annual 25$ Everything Tier down to 20$

The Sponsor tier was meant to provide initial stability, but since it has run its course, it felt wrong to keep it, so I removed it. The Everything Tier has been lowered from $25 to $20 and clarified. Included in the Everything tier is the annoy me sound board that is accessible through the Twitch stream, along with a single custom sound. If you recently supported me at this tier and would prefer the new price, feel free to reach out and I will gladly send you a refund. My email is listed on my contact page.
The recommended tier is staying the same. I still feel good about the perks and pricing there. As with the Everything tier, it includes sound commands; however, it does not include the custom one. If you support me at this tier or the everything tier, expect an email from me asking for your Twitch username.
The goal with this pricing was to match the prices of Twitch subscriptions, but with those costs rising and money being tight for a lot of people, I felt the right choice was to streamline my memberships and make them more affordable. Alongside this, I am quietly looking for a part time video editor to assist with shorts and long form lore videos, similar to the "Boatmurdered" video I released last month. If you are interested in working with me behind the scenes, please reach out with examples of your work.
This summer I had a hard time keeping up with all parts of this blog. It got to the point where I felt I was neglecting it entirely. I am going to change that by holding myself accountable and making sure to post, even if it is something small. I want this space to feel active. I think this has more potential value than any of the other places where I share my work. On top of that, I am offering some small incentives, like this early bird giveaway. The first person to click and redeem these stickers will receive a free set.
Give away link.
Did you miss it? Well, here is a second option. The first ten people who use the code Dust at checkout on my shop will get that sticker set included when they spend $10. I want to do more little giveaways and promotions like these.
Auto applied promotion link.
These are on top of the "Dwarf Fortress Adventure Mode" record giveaway I announced in a post yesterday. I will draw the first winner after I write this, keep an eye on your email! With all that said. I will be making some other small changes to the look of this blog. Just to keep things fresh. Some places on this site need a touch of TLC so pardon my dust.
Thanks for reading and good luck on the giveaways!
Schedule
I'm currently in the planning stage on two projects and in the editing stage for a 3rd. I spent some time editing a longer(ish) video covering my first two forts since the siege update. Initially I wanted this video to be a small project but.. well.. You know how it is. The second is a fresh and up dated "Getting started" guide similar to the one I released in 2023. I am targeting late December / Early January for that video. In between those two I also have a secret project in the works. Something some of you will be super excited to see. Even though I don't expect it to make a massive splash.
This week I plan to stream Tuesday - Thursday Dwarf Fortress during the day for the majority with a few hours in the evenings dedicated to Mount and Blade: Bannerlord. If I have the energy then I'll do a Friday stream dedicated to Bannerlord.
